The time it takes for us to realize that we have an issue is about less than a second. The time it takes is to correct this issue can take a lifetime, why is that? I was sitting in my room knowing I have an issue but continuing to do the same thing over and over as if I was listening to the same song over and over again. Waking up I tell my self that this will be the day when I change, this will be the day I start off right. Self sabotaging seems to be the modern realization of someone’s ego. I tend to stay on the same page without wanting to turn the page with fear of it. I tend to want to resort back to the same things I am accustomed to and can’t get to the part I want to be and without it I feel alone and depressed. With the same people I seem to go out with, they seem to be friendly but in the end I am betrayed by their desires of drinking and loose women. Goals I set every start of the week seems to be dwindled by the end when my urge to use the bottle to solve my social problems.
Have the thought crossed your mind? Why am I still here? A thought many people have every minute of the day but they know why. The thoughts of our faults have always been there and we do notice them. Why can’t we fix the issue that we notice and continue in the life of destruction? Being afraid of the future, being afraid of failure and success is self imposed on what we need to fix. We always will fix if it is the last minute before the destruction of your so called life but why can’t we just fix it at the beginning. I am not saying I am perfect but I think maybe we need to stop the self doubt in ourselves and start to think about how we can better ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. How do we fix the issues that we have problems with?
- Write it down- Writing it down is better than just thinking it; this tends to be more of a dedication than just the thought of changing. Put this paper somewhere you will look everyday like the bathroom mirror or on the steering wheel of your car.
- Make goals- seeking out an answer to your problems that you only can solve can be hard so make goals that are attainable. Stick to them but also put steps in your goals with a time constraint so you can reward yourself when you hit each step. The rewards cannot be something that will sabotage but compliment the goal but also it shows you that you are achieving it. EX: lose 1 pound a week, reward is eating fat free ice cream
- Acting the part- Has anyone ever told you this? Acting the way you want to be can be very beneficial because it gives a sense of what it is you want to become. Don’t lie about who you are but practice in saying you are this certain way and how happy you are for being this way can be positive encouragement.
So with being healthy you have to understand you have to be mentally healthy as well. Having a great physical physique is healthy but with not having mental health or emotionally health can and will be a problem. Being an all around healthy person can an will help you get through your day and week and even month but also understand you will fail at stuff but what separates the boys and men is how we deal with it. One side we can dwell on it and become enrapt in our failure and become immobile for achieving anything or we can take it as learned lesson and move on. “What does not kill you make you stronger”.
